RIGSDOM · Sell your drilling rig
ConsignmentSell your drilling rig
If you own a land rig standing idle, we will list it, document it properly and put it in front of buyers who are actually looking. You keep the asset until it sells.

How consignment works
The process is deliberately simple, because rig owners are usually busy running an operation rather than selling one.
- 1. Send the basics. Make and model, drawworks rating, hook load, mast, mud pumps, BOP stack, year, location and current status. A photograph or two helps.
- 2. We build the listing. Specification page, photographs, and a technical data pack a buyer's engineer can evaluate without a site visit.
- 3. We qualify the enquiries. Buyers are screened before they reach you, so you are not fielding tyre-kickers or brokers fishing for a price.
- 4. You decide. Inspection, negotiation and terms remain yours. We introduce, document and support the transaction.
What makes a rig sell
Rigs that sell quickly have three things in common, and none of them is a low price.
Documentation that stands up. A buyer's technical authority will ask for the API 4F certificate with its inspection category, API 8C certificates for the hoisting equipment with NDT dates, BOP test records to API 16A, and the preventive maintenance history. A rig with a complete file sells for more than an identical rig without one.
Honest condition reporting. Declaring a deferred repair costs less than having a buyer's inspector find it. Every unit has something; buyers expect that and price it. What they will not forgive is discovering it themselves.
Photographs that show the rig, not the sky. The substructure, the drill floor, the mud system, the BOP stack, the camp. Engineers look for corrosion, modifications and general housekeeping.
What we need to start
Send whatever you have. A specification sheet is ideal, but a rig name and rating is enough to begin the conversation. If the documentation is incomplete, we will tell you plainly what a buyer will ask for and what it will take to assemble it.
Units we place: land drilling rigs, workover and well service units, slant rigs, and complete camp and rig move packages. We do not handle offshore units.
Common questions
What does it cost to list a rig?
Terms are agreed per consignment and depend on the unit, the price expectation and how much documentation work is required. There is no charge to have a conversation about it.
Do I have to move the rig?
No. Units are listed where they stand. Buyers inspect on site, and transport is arranged after a sale is agreed.
Can you sell equipment rather than a whole rig?
Yes. Mud pumps, BOP stacks, top drives, drill pipe, camps and generators are all sellable separately, and often move faster than a complete package.
Talk to the desk
Tell us the well, the location and the timing, and we will come back with the units that fit, the delivered price or day rate, and the technical data pack.
